Fassbinder, acting in Kamikaze 1989 (1982)

One of the preminent directors of French cinema, François Ozon salutes once more his belowed auteur, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, adapting Die bitteren Tränen der Petra von Kant(The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant) once more.

Fassbinder, adapted it from his own play to cinema in 1972. The story takes place in the apartment of the pratagonist Petra von Kant, with a narcissistic tendancy and is casted only by women. According to the news Satellifax made, Denis Menochet will be playing Fassbinder himself while Isabelle Adjani will be Fassbinder’s muse.

Ozon adapted Fassbinder’s Water Drops on Burning Rocks to the wide screen before.

Meanwhile, until the end of March, a selection of Fassbinder films are being screened in collaboration with Goethe-Institut Istanbul at İstanbul Modern Sinema.
